Coldbath Mens Hairdressers Leeds

History of Chapel Allerton and Coldbath

People have appreciated the Chapel A vibe since prehistoric times many thousands of years before the first buildings were ever erected. The Romans liked it so much they even built a way station there.

By the end of the 17th Century, Chapel Allerton had become a hedonistic leisure resort we know and love today, with one writer in the 18th Century describing it as the Montpellier of Yorkshire. At this time there was a race course, a bowling green and a gallows in the village, all of which are sadly no more.

Unbelievably, despite all this sophistication, it wasn’t until the early days of the 21st century that the first establishment offering traditional barbering combined with contemporary men’s hairdressing landed in the village. We refer to none other than Cold Bath the first to offer these services in North Leeds.

Famed for it’s eclectic decor and weird congregation of curios gathered from the four corners by it’s proprietor Toby Wiltshire, Cold Bath offers and extremely friendly, laid-back and relaxing atmosphere that has been appreciated by discerning gentlemen since doors opened in 2001. So-much-so in fact, that the place is brimming with chaps just ‘hanging out’ in the hope of absorbing some it’s ambiance-of-cool before hitting the town.

So come and experience the extraordinariness that is Cold Bath, you could even get a haircut and a traditional wet shave at the same time.
